Anne Perry lives in Scotland. As well as the highly praised William Monk, she writes the equally highly praised and bestselling Inspector Pitt series, one of which was recently adapted for television as The Cater Street Hangman. Over 10 million of her books have been sold worldwide, one million of them in the UK.
She has worked as an airline stewardess and a ship-to-shore bursar, and managed a furniture store in Beverley Hills before becoming a full-time writer. She is hugely popular in the US where she recently won an Edgar for her short story 'Heroes'. She is equally popular in France where six of her books have reached the top ten bestseller list.
The One thing More (Headline) represents Anne Perry's intriguing departure from her Inspector Pitt and William Monk series to bring the terrors of the French Revolution to life. In January 1793 Celie watches as Louis XV1 is sentenced to death. She is one of a small group of people afraid that, once throneless, France will quickly be conquered by its neighbouring countries. They are determined to rescue the king, but when their secret leader is murdered, Celie and her fugitive lover must piece together the plan to act before the execution takes place.
