Writing Sherlockian Pastiche

Being an ever-loving Sherlock Holmes fan and collector, as well as a writer, it is only natural that I was tempted to try my hand at a Sherlockian pastiche, as have so many others. However, my stories are very different from many of the pastiches you may have read. My two new books in the Linfords Mystery series, Sherlock Holmes and The Crosby Murders and The Secret Files of Shlerock Holmes, collect 5 full-length stories published for the first time in the UK — one a MWA Edgar nominee. I have written each story in a manner that captures the mood and style of the Doyle originals with new and compelling adventures. These were a sheer joy to write and I know my enthusiasm for Holmes and his world comes through in each tale. Honestly, these stories almost wrote themselves. For 30 years I have also collected and catagroized Holmes pastiches and that culminated last year in the publication of my book Sherlock Holmes: The Great Detective in Paperback & Pastiche. So, I do have a smattering of interest in Sherlock Holmes, both fiction and non-fiction.

Both Sherlock Holmes books are now available from Gryphon Books at: www.gryphonbooks.com (UK: www.amazom.com and through www.ulverscroft.com in UK and US and other countries.]
