A three-in-one, belated notice for a writer who heretofore had escaped my attention. So why this late cheer for the talented Kenneth Cameron and the three novels above? Frankly, it’s becacuse his work was brought to my attention by his UK editor Bill Massey – and I’m very glad to he did. This is historical crime writing of great elegance and inventiveness. The books feature a highly unusual protagonist in the displaced American Denton, involved in dark criminal investigations in the London of the early 1900s. It’s absolutely sterling crime fare.
