The excellent Thomas Enger (described as ‘intense’ and trenchant’ in Barry Forshaw’s Death in a Cold Climate) has a new publisher: Orenda Books has signed the bestselling Norwegian crime writer in two-book deal. Karen Sullivan, publisher of Orenda Books, has announced the acquisition of World English Language rights for Norwegian crime writer Thomas Enger’s next two titles in the Henning Juul series, in a deal negotiated with Anne Cathrine Eng of Gyldendal Agency, at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Karen says, ‘This is a brilliant signing for Orenda, and I’m overjoyed to have the opportunity to publish Thomas Enger, an international bestselling author and one of the most exceptionally talented and exciting members of the Nordic/Scandi Noir crime wave. The Henning Juul series is a perfect fit for the Orenda list – dark, gritty, tightly plotted and gripping, with some key social messages at the core, and an unforgettable protagonist. I’ve long been a fan of Thomas’s distinctive writing, and it will be a pleasure to work closely with him to get the next books out in English.’

Thomas says, ‘I am absolutely delighted and thrilled that Orenda Books is going to publish the last two novels in the Henning Juul series. I have followed Orenda Books with great interest and I am really excited to be part of Karen’s ever-growing list of fantastic authors. I hope that this is just the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship.’

Coat of Arms will be published in Spring 2017 and Mortal Wound later that year. For more information, please contact
